Im a divorced guy. I live alone. I came down with a debilitating illness two years back and couldnt carry on in a relationship because of distance, however were still best friends. Life has been a real struggle.. very sick, debilitated, stuck at home, isolated, no parents to help (dead), an older married brother 200 miles away and a couple of dozy single male friends. Ive recently had to wean off narcotic painkillers the doctor put me on, and the last week has been sheer hell.. the worst week of my life.. just like heroin withdrawal. Im through it now, but I dunno how I coped alone, felt like doing away with myself. (this is the uk.. no rehab here unless youre rich)
