Addiction is a challenge that has brought pain and sorrow to many people and their loved ones. Addiction simply means that a person is hooked to something and they have completely lost control when it comes to using whatever it is that they are addicted to. People suffer from different types of addiction. A person can get addicted to just about anything: sex, alcohol, pills, coffee, chocolate, TV, etc. Addiction has a devastating impact on the addict themselves and on the family and friends of the addict. They need help. This is where an addiction forum or an addiction support group comes in.

People who suffer from addiction will take a long time before they admit that they have a problem and seek help. They need the encouragement and support of their family and friends so that they can join an addiction forum or an addiction support group as judging them does not help.

My spouse is in a methadone treatment program for severe chronic pain, and was recently hospitalized because of an injury. She initially told a nurse she is on methadone, and was still given 20 mg of morphine (tricated at 5mg) for pain. After she was admitted, an attending physician remarked that morphine “is for addicts”, so she was afraid to mention the methadone, for fear of being treated even worse. Can she be in any legal trouble because of this?

Not at all. It is very wise to tell your doctor and nurse ALL meds you are on both legal and illegal. That way there are no interactions.
In regards to the physician, his remarks were at the very least insensitive. If this is a teaching hospital, I would definitly report him to the chairman of his department.
If it is not a teaching hospital, then file a complaint with the administrator.
